Tried doing some crazy circus manuevers with my Appaloosa pony 'Carly' & wild Mustang 'Goodie' (Bucky's mom) strapped together one time...Didn't go so well cause Goodie was blind & couldn't see. I got bucked off & landed right on a cactus. Good times.

I can relate to you. Bought my 1st Appaloosa pony with my own hard earnings at 6 years old & been hooked ever since. Youth run wild, got into all sorts or trouble, caused ruckus & grew up surrounded by fancy pant kids whose parents could afford to buy them better horses & pay someone else like me to train & care for them. I worked as a groomer a couple years ago for some high class hunter jumper trainers as well & had my own little fun picking $#!+ up. Being a groomer is by no means a reliable job, especially when/if you're treated & paid poorly. Mad hats off to you, sir.
I was a complete and utter nobody that earned my oats and paid my dues the hard way. And only you can imagine an Appaloosa kicking all the fancy Warmblood’s butts in Dressage up and down the whole Eastern Seaboard. He also ran barrels, could jump well over 4 ft, did eventing, survived a bowel resection. He was quite a horse out of many diamonds in the rough I found. Someone sold him in a divorce. I found him w his head tied to his stirrup in submission for western pleasure. He was “way more talented than that.” Trotted across that pasture like pegasus. That’s the trot that made the new owners that bought him from us, change his name from Sun Prince (palomino Appaloosa) to Spectacular Edition. I got into endurance or trail after that and never looked back. I’m more of a groom type, ruffian chick that lives w a turkey.

I’m a girl and I started out in 1973 w my first job only paying $150 a week as a professional groom, but the experience w that trainer was priceless and led to a lot of amazing adventures and a lifetime of learning something new everyday.

My first horses were Arabians, not the crazy ones. Loved them! One reason why I did Trakehners; most Arabian and TB blood up close, great inspection program, nice horses.
Not riding any more; the ground gets harder every year!
Nice old steady eddie mare is gone, so just not interested in riding again. And raising foals was more fun anyway.

Distance Arabians conditioned for 50, 75 and 100 mile races in the US or 160 km in the rest of the world are a bit psycho mass starting w over 100 horses in sime venues. I’m older, so the Warmbloods came later. And I’m right there w you on the ground getting harder. If I ride again, will get a hit air vest.

I sincerely apologize for calling you sir, my lady, You & I have much in common. ❤

That’s because she’s your heart horse and she’s grateful to have you in her life. The last heart horse, my personal endurance horse (rest I competed for my TX friend / trainer or orhers, when I compete) is now 29. He’s gone from stomping on other people, not me to therapeutic riding w disabled children w my high school friend. He can still fly on the trails though. He’s earned his retirement.

I know she hungers for more challenges i have even been able to get on her back before I really know she wants to do things like i bet she would be a good trick horse she is "greenbroke" but I don't really like riding on their backs because I'm not exactly the skinniest :lau
