Attention Muscovy lovers

Solo has free run of the yard when ever we are outside and he's very brave and tries to stay close to the older 2 Muscovy. The drake is very curious about him and much more tolerant than the female, she's kinda snippy toward him. When the babies are bigger I will try a meet and greet LOL. Take pics when you put your babies outside. Do yours go swimming yet? Mine are always splashing and playing in the water, (a shallow tray).
I had mine in the bathtub.......ONCE. Does Solo's belly (underneath) look like it is very sparse in feathering? All of mine have a noticeably bare looking underneath.

he's starting to feather out, I can see all the little quills sticking out. He did loose some tail feathers, not sure if that's normal or just due to stress from moving him outside but they are filling back in now. For the pool I got a heavy duty cement mixing rectangular tub from Lowes for around $11. I've seen them in the feed store for twice as much. I placed some bricks for steps and he's loving it.

I have several of those mortar tubs from Lowe's and they work out pretty well. I think today is the day that these 10 ducklings learn that there is an outside world too. They have grown so very fast and poop so very much! Wonder with our Florida night temperatures if they need a light on them?

I didn't, it's in the mid70's at night and they huddle together and seem to do fine.

Is there a standard age at which a drake will start to beat up a male duckling?

This morning there was some blood on a few of my Muscovy, BUT

I cant figure out where it came from!!!

I couldn't find a wound on the baby boy, and i couldn't find any blood spots on the coop floor, or on any feet, or on any bills.

There was a little blood on one of my three adult ducks, a little on the drake's chest, a little on the baby girl's neck and the most on the baby boy's neck.

But, all the blood looked to just be smeared onto the outer surface of the feathers (not from a cut under the feathers).

Guesses?

I think the coop is rodent proof.

I think I'd examine their skin under the feathers, sometimes it hard to find a wound you just have to get in there under the feathers. My drakes don't mess with a new drake under breeding age till following spring but if they get a chance they'll grab hold of feathers.

If no wound is to be found, is it possible they tore a mouse up? Just a thought. You've probably already cleaned the blood off and check them again tomorrow.
