O, the Bee inspector lives 5 doors down from Us, i thought your dad lived up this way to beings you said he runs bee's to fl. if not, im sure your nabor knows him then, as if you have bee's you need a permit for even one hive here. if you dont they will burn the hive out if they find it to have afb and or a fine....
As paul inspec's all of lehigh county some of the other counties around ours.
He might know who it is. My dad lives in Lancaster county, I mean he's not far, but not up here. Herman (the guy that has the bees here at my place) actually went to trade school with my dad, it was such a weird thing when we bought this place.
Hey yall, glad ya liked the pics.
they are still out there, they are alot more active now it's warmer.
Thanks for that info, Reinbeau & wilds of pa
I checked that link to beekeepers & there's no one in my area (NE LA) go figure.Last yr we had 2 or 3 hives on my BIL's place next door to us.His place is mostly wooded,so maybe that's where they came from.My hubby was saying they would send out scouts to look for a new home,we'll just leave them "bee"
I'd love to start keeping bees, maybe in my near future. We usually let the flowering weeds grow up in our place just so the bees & butterflies can enjoy.
Loved your pix my neighbor raises honeybees, I asked him last year if he had any honey left, and he said him bees had not produced any honey at all, he was worried about them, haven't had a chance to talk to him lately, hope all is well with his bees.
Yea, last year wasn't a good honey year for most everyone. Out of six hives we only got 79 lbs. The good news this year is all six hives made it through the winter, we've got two new nucs coming for Maine and three packages for down here, which will bring us up to a total of 11 this season - we should do well this year provided there's no drought. In the drought the flowers had little nectar, no nectar, no honey
