The movement to support Food-Producing Animals (FPA) in Denver is kicking into high gear. Sustainable Food Denver is working to lobby City Council to pass an ordinance that would allow a limited number of FPAs (hen chickens, ducks, and dwarf dairy goats) without an expensive and time-consuming permitting process. To learn more about these efforts, please visit http://www.sustainablefooddenver.org

HOW YOU CAN HELP
We are forming council district “Action Teams” so that we can arrange targeted email campaigns. When you join your district's Action Team, you will be occasionally asked to send an email to your City Councilperson. We will provide a template email that you can cut and paste, or you can write your own.

PLEASE EMAIL Sustainable Food Denver now at:

[email protected]

and let me know which council district you live in, so I can add you to your district's Action Team. If you don't know which district you live in, click on this link:

http://www.denvergov.org/denvermaps/

Enter your address in the box in the upper right corner. Scroll down to see your council district. Occasionally the website doesn't work, so you can also call 720-865-9534 or visit http://www.denvergov.org/citycouncil

Please
email [email protected] now to sign up for your district's action team. Just a couple of emails from everyone who supports FPA could be the support we need to make these important changes for Denver!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

this may be a little off topic, but i hear that when you eat local grown food, especially honey, (hello beekeepers), it can reduce your allergies. makes sense to me and could be a little tidbit to add to your list of good things.
