I've lived in the South all my life and have never understood the mad dash for milk & bread at the mere mention of the word snow.

I don't think I will ever understand it.

I could understand a mad dash for T.P., or even some canned goods
but why milk & bread?

Snow is the dirtiest 4 letter word in the south!

My husband always said it should be beer and bread not milk and bread!

Oh, and it's "watch out where the huskies go and don't you eat that yellow snow"!
 
I grew up in the south too. I am still at a loss to why people dash to the store for milk and bread. I've never really needed those things when it snows. I did buy some wine today (just in case the kids drive me completely nuts)

I think the trend started when the Yankees moved south. They are used to being snowed in for days. Here it usually is gone by the next day. But now if you need anything from the store you better get it before the transplanted northerners buy it all.
 
hey, ya'll are forgetting the MOST important thing...... toilet paper!!!!!
trust me i had three brothers....i could live w/o bread and milk but not toilet paper!!!
