Auburn, Alabama laws on chickens in city limits?

Has anyone heard any updates on this? I got a call today from the city saying I had to get rid of my 3 hens that are in my fenced in back yard. I hate to give my pets away!

Gosh, what a bummer!! I haven't heard anything new, and you're the first person I've heard of who's been asked to get rid of theirs within the city limits. That's too bad!

Have you had them long? If you live in an area that was annexed recently and you had the chickens before that, maybe you have an out. I have no idea.

If you end up having to get rid of them, we know some folks who may be interested in getting them as egg-layers (not meat). We all live out in Beauregard.
