they were between 8-10 months I can only guess the weight around 18 lbs?? They are very big birds.

How old were these brahma's when they started laying? what do you think the roosters weigh?

Just to let you know~ The GOLD LACED WERE PRODUCED ONLY TO MAKE THE BUFF LACED- YOU CAN BREED TWO BUFF LACED AND STILL GET AN OCCASIONAL GOLD-THESE ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS LIKE DAN POWEL SAID! I PREFER A FEW GL BECUASE IT HELPS THE RICH COLOR AND LACING>Also you sometimes get one with little lacing but the lacing will be passed on.Some time the color is not perfect. I have had mahogany to reds or a bluish at times in the gl. You never know. Majority are what you see and are bl or gl. THESE ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS! Ask anyone who has them or who has raised them.

As you can see in this picture with 2 gold laced- they are a little different in color and 1 is richer than the other.

Ok I just weighed a cockerel and he is 12.8 lbs. I have a few roos bigger but couldnt catch them.

Dan Powell used gold laced to make the buff laced. Originally I was frustrated with it, but found it a nice surprise after all! Both colors are so pretty and red rooster has great stock!
