Again, my curiousity gets the better of me!

I guess cause I see so many people get bent out of shape about auctions. Not here so much though, everyone seems to take winning/losing gracefully, tease, laugh. I love that!
Me? I am zero competitive when it comes to auctions. I just shrug and figure if I dont win, it doesnt hurt my feelings and its not the end of the world.

So, how competitive are YOU?

What I dont understand is when people get hostile.

Hmm I have never gotten hostile?? I have gotten smartalecky just like all my other shark eating nut job buddies though:-) I always warn people who are new to acutioning their eggs ( If Im a bidder) that our banter is all in fun for sure-and at the same time we get great eggs and the seller gets a good laugh and money in there pockets...LOL..

I'm competitive in a fun way. If I really want it though, I'll spend the money. However, I do get a tad irritated whenI've been bidding the whole time and at the very last second - literally - someone who has not been involved the whole time comes in a place the bid and takes whatever I was bidding on. That bugs the crap out of me. It's like when they put a spoiler in the Belmont and the winner of the first two legs is beat by a nose.

I have never seen you get hostile, smart alecky is different and fun.

I suppose I would get a tad annoyed if I was bidding the entire time and someone came in at the last minute and won. But I have to remember that the eggs arent mine until the auction is done.

I havent seen anything yet though that I want enough to bid more than a time or two on.

I am very compettetive if I "NEED" whatever is being auctioned off. Usually that is all I bid on, so I'm usually innit to winnit so to speak. If it goes past my budget, I bail.

Guess WHAT!!!??? Last night two of my BamaChicken's black orp chicks hatched, one more is pipped! They were due late Friday, so I MIGHT have done something right this time!!!

She sent buku extras, eleven were viable, but only four made it to lockdown due to my usual "issues" with a hovabator, heat spikes, irregular turning schedule, crowded incubator, staggered hatches, turning them in a hurry by just gently rolling the whole shebang around with the palms of my hands, scooping the outer eggs to the center, forcing the middle ones to the outside. I figure anything that survives my incubation style is H-A-R-D-Y!!! I would bid high again if I hatched out all roos or all pullets this time. I would REALLY LOVE to have a working flock of those, bad enough to be compettetive.

That's just it...if I NEED it, then I'm more intent on the item. I only bid on certain things, not just to have/win. And yeah, it's not "mine" til the auction is ended, but when you are talking seconds and someone comes in, you know they have been lurking and waiting to yank it and that's sneaky-wrong, IMO.
