That sounds super squishy! would there be a minimum? like 4sqft for the first 4 birds then 1sq ft for every 2 birds after etc?

Nope. They are surprisingly comfortable.

Just wanted to say hi- I have 8 Silverrud Bla eggs in my incubator on day 11, just candled them, 6 look good, 2 probably not, one looks like a big blood ring, one just has a big black spot without veins. As I´m not the expert candler i´ll check again tomorrow.

I thought our easter hatch would be the last one for quite some time, but out of our 7 chicks 6 are roosters. So here we go again, I´m still a little reluctant to be excited because of the gender inequality and a malpositioned chick that died last hatch...

Fourth and last leghorn has hatched and it's another white. I guess the other 8 eggs were the other varieties and I just got lucky/unlucky. I'll lean towards lucky since I no longer had any white chickens, now I have 4

Ducklings are ridiculously cute! We had the one hatch on Friday, then when we were gone yesterday, the other two hatched. Even though we were gone, we were able to watch along thanks to the camera. Now #1 has to get used to having other ducks around after his day as a people.

It is day 11 for the second batch of eggs. I checked on Lucky and he's still growing. Maybe now my daughter will stop calling me an egg murderer.
