Has anyone tried to buy blue eggs On ebay? I really would like to have some colored eggs but I have no access to any of them locally.
I bought green eggs off of ebay. :) well 1 is really blue and some are a blueish green. they are an EE/Cochin cross project chicken. The seller I found has been working on it for about 3 years and got them that they look like Cochins but lay green eggs. I think she may also sell pure EE eggs so a chance of blue. She is AMAZING to work with!!!!! If you get a poor hatch (believe under 38% since shipped eggs are hard to hatch) she will send more for just shipping cost. Well my first I bought 12 eggs. 10/12 started to develop and 10/10 of those hatched!!!!!!! Long story but she mixed up my order (it was a combo of eggs and she sent the wrong amts of each one) so she offered to ship out more for nothing.. Then she said she had another 12 eggs she would add for $15 more total... so I did that. I got another 22 (her PO was out of large boxes so think that was all that would fit. LOL) eggs. So far out of those 22 16 are for sure developing and 3 I see nothing, and 3 I am not sure yet but pretty sure 1 or 2 of those have something..... So again even if none of those do that is 16/22 for shipped which is amazing! I can't say enough good about this seller! She is so easy to work with and SO nice!!!!!!

Well I have another broody..... LOL my 5th time this season with my 7 hens..... One went broody twice then 4 other now. The July hatch was when my other hen went broody again and while i tried to break her since it was her 2nd time she would not break. so I left her with only fake eggs so I could make her go out a few times a day instead of her normal once to try to keep weight on her...... Well 3 days before my eggs hatched (was going to give her the chicks once they hatched) she broke on her own!!!! LOL

Now a new girl is broody....... Not sure how she will be as a mom but thinking of putting a couple of eggs from the incubator under her (see if that keeps her broody the full 3 weeks) and then give her the chicks from the incubator once they hatch so I don't have to worry about dealing with them in the brooder. The eggs are on day 4 and today is her first full day broody so will end up really close to that 3 week mark...... Will give her a bit to be sure she is committed before I give her eggs but hoping she will raise the babies!

I love broodies! I've only ever had a broody hatch out eggs once, but it was awesome to not have to worry about them. She was a great mama and definitely did all the heavy lifting, and I ended up with pretty EEs that laid light green eggs!

Just wanted to let you know I bought Easter Egger and Olive Egger hatching eggs from Meyer hatchery, they were only about $3 each and $10 shipping for a dozen! I really like the chicks from Meyers, so it was fun to hatch some of theirs!

My first broody (Ditzy) hatched out 1 and I hatched 1 from the incubator that I gave her as well, they were from the same eggs but I wanted to see one hatch then ended up missing it anyways. LOL....... so she raised those 2 babies.

Then my next broody (Fajita) had shipped eggs under her and 1 from my own group (EE/Cochin mix).... the shipped eggs were duds but my 1 hatched and she raised baby Merica. :)

At the same time as that one my 3rd broody started (Nugget) who got half the shipped eggs and 1 from my group....... well none of those started...... so I bought her babies and gave them to her and she raised them.

Then I ordered eggs from another seller on ebay (and got "replacement ones" for half price from the ones I gave my broody's....... and again those did nothing well 1 did but was DIS at hatch day). then Ditzy went broody again (her chicks were only 5 weeks old and she had just stopped mothering them like a week before) so for reasons stated above I left eggs in the incubator. She broke herself 3 days shy of when my eggs hatched. That was 2 weeks ago.....

and Now Marshmallow is broody....... LOL

Hey @DebbieMarler whereabouts in N AR are you? I used to live in Fayetteville for about 20 years and moved to Waldron in 2018. Loved it up there though!

My cousin lived in Fayettville and I lived in Perryville for a bit after college before heading back north to stay.

My eggs all hatched before today, so I technically made the July hatch group though today was day 21. All 6 hatched and we lost one baby overnight last night. The rest are running, eating, drinking and pooping! Made them a ramp tonight to get out of the coop and will be opening up the enclosure door tomorrow morning. Was going to do it today but needed to put down some fresh mulch and build a ramp, then my kids needed to eat and some attention and they have been neglected since the 1st chick came Sat :gig
