Tomorrow is lockdown. Should I candle the eggs tonight or just let them be until they hatch (or not)?

really bad news on my hatch..
i ordered eggs on july 28 and arrived on the 31
i incubated on the first to start and everything..the 21 past so i was anxoius
for them to hatch and nothing no rocking nothing..i candled one to see the process
and no movement on none of them which to say i recieved 20 eggs and on the 18th only 7 were good..
so i checked one and it was dead :S drowned on the fluids inside it
sad.png
... i was scared the others were the same
and now today i candled again and found to see all other six same fate..all dead drowned in the fluids they all broke the
membrane to breath but no good
sad.png
worst part about incubating is the loss especially when they were already this developed didnt
even get that first breath out of the shell..no silkies this year..they were my first silkie incubation ever..

D'Angelo N Va.,
Which types of eggs are you incubating? The last 4 days are the hardest ever! I am going to take out the turner in the morning. I started my hatch at 9:00 in the morning. I will have to take it out at 7 because I have an appt during that time. I want to be there the whole time just to listen for peeps. I have to work on Wednesday, that will be incredibly rough! Good luck with your hatch

i did think about that too so i started looking up the humidity levels on the net just to make sure
since i always keep it around 65-70 in the last four days..
before that its 55-60.. but no i was ok in the levels.. and im just confused on why it would happen..
i check thre of the eggs and the chicks didnt even finish absorbing the yolk..others broke the membrane.. and all looked great 4 white and 3 black all had 5 toes and perfectly formed..

my phoenix and serama from another bator came aout great with the same conditions..
but i guess i cant hae good luck all the time..i feel bad for the little ones that had to go through it..

My life was so much easier before I bought a hygrometer. The first hatch I did I didn't have one. I had a pan of water in the bator, when it got low I added to it. I had no clue how much humidity was in there. I honestly was so naive I didn't much care. This time around I am obsessive compulsive about it. I have been having trouble keeping the humidity to 55%, now I am freaking out to wonder how I am going to get it to go past that. I ended up with four babies out of 5, the other eggs were not fertilized. Do the babies put out humidity as they get ready to hatch? Honestly, I did nothing. I am not advocating it. Just wondering. If the hygrometer did anything it gave me something else to do other than stare in the bator through the two teeny windows. I really need to spring for a brinsea. My husband might shoot me if I buy something else to hatch babies. He loves that I have a hobby but the feed is expensive and then there are the coops....(Or the half constructed coops...

) Good luck on everyone's hatches. I could sit here all day and look at baby bird pics.
