August Hatch-A-Long!

Here are the last 2 that hatched. Couldn't disinfect the brooder so I lined it with paper towels & put more bacitracin on their open bellies. *fingers crossed* they make it. This little one on me is making such a fuss. I could never replace a broody though

HELP!!!! Ok peeps, no pun intended. I have a predicament. My hatch goes I to lockdown tonight and I just picked up a set of six silkie eggs but I don't have an extra bator to put them in. I have 2 broodys however they're already laying on 13 eggs. Do you think I can place the new eggs under them if I label them and then move them to the bator after my eggs have hatched?

yes

I'm another who doesn't want to have babies once the weather starts getting cold. I do want to try the shipped bantam eggs again...so...dunno yet if this will be my one and only hatch for the year :)
Is there a particular type of shipped bantam? Or just any bantam? If it doesn't matter, there are frizzle cochins on ebay that are very inexpensive, that are doing really well in my incubator. They haven't hatch yet, so I don't know for sure and also the bantam mix seems to do well if I don't have incubator temp issues.

might be a frizzle with all those curls...how old?
That picture was 2 days. But doesn't look any different now at 6 days except the wing feathers. Not many but they are very long.

oh my goodness! there is something wrong with me...I said I was done after Aug but I bought more eggs!!!

I haven't even bothered to say I'm done, but I need to.

I have heard people say to only have from an egg from a hen laying full size consistently. But I've also had people tell me the eggs from young chickens just starting to lay (the smaller eggs) are better. What do you guys think?
