sorry can i but in this convo. can anyone help me an let me no if this egg looks healthy. im worried that the circle around the heart is a blood ring. its my first time doing this. sorry for butting in x

Don't apologize! I can't tell by the pic maybe someone with a well trained eye can. A blood ring will look like blood has been smeared on the inside of the egg. It looks like it MIGHT be, but so hard to tell, like I stated earlier, this is only my second hatch & I haven't had to deal with blood rings.

Oh this is your duck eggs? Ok I saw you post in another thread. I really can't tell, honestly, I would check it again in a couple days to see if its developing like the others.

thankyou thats helped a lot. it doesnt look like blood has smeared and it was there yesterday and more veins have appeared today so that sounds good doesnt it lol x

Good morning everyone. I found the August hatch thread. I've not started my incubation yet, as July's hatch is just at day 22. I've got 11 fertile eggs ready to go. By Monday, I'm sure I will have more. My mother gave me a clutch of mutt eggs yesterday. RIR/New Hampshires, Buff Orpington/New Hampshires, and one Ameraucana/New Hampshire. I'm thinking I will start my new batch on either Monday July 29th or Tuesday the 30th.

Interesting... I actually was holding them with the air cell up with my flashlight behind them and taking pics with right hand. Some of them loaded different directions because of how I held my camera. However I have no luck holding my flashlight at the top of the egg and being able to cup the light. Can you take a pic of how you do this?

First.........Welcome............... I do not see a blood ring..........mine always appear as a dark ring all the way around the inside of the egg..................
I am always slow to throw eggs out.....my motto.if in doubt..don't

Candled on day 4 and I think my entire clutch is a dud. My sis in law is going to be so disappointed. She totally wanted more houdans. And I was looking forward to hatching again
