August Hatch-A-Long!

Lol you sound just like me I started out with a Brinsea Advanced mini and before I even set my first eggs I purchased the Brinsea eco 20 realizing that the mini was never going to cut from this fast growing addiction!  I also have the Brinsea 20 brooder and I have 6 Serama chicks under it now, I love it and so do they,I refer to it as the electric hen The other thing I love about it that I feel it is more natural for the chicks the actually get night and day which I think is more healthy for them IMO. The no fire hazard it hugh for me as I was always worried about it while I was at work it's all I thought about till I got home ever afternoon and seen my house still standing it was worth every penny if not of this reason only.
Good luck with your hatch can't wait to see what your mystery chicks turn out to be it's like a grab bag at the fair

I considered the mini at first just because of the price. Hubby said if you are going to want more than a few eggs at a time you should spend up for the Eco 20... Who is going to argue with that huh? Lol. I watched the Brinsea 20 brooder on amazon for a few weeks. When I saw it get down to $59 with free shipping I jumped on it!

Today is day 15 for my 6 mystery eggs. I have one egg on day 9, it is from my laying hen and my cockerel who just turned 14 weeks 4 days ago. The embryo is developing nicely. Three days til lockdown on the 6, but the single egg will stay in this incubator until the others have hatched in the new incubator. I am getting nervous.

Ok, so I know I said no more shipped eggs.....but I won an auction for some Swedish Flower hens! I am on day 13 of the first eggs I set, these eggs should arrive by Tuesday, which would be an Aug.20-21 hatch....plus i plan on finally making the TN trip (wanted to do it last week, but A/C on car went out) next weekend, maybe the weekend after, so that would be hatching Aug. 25-26....wow, glad DH decided he did like this venture after all!

I have 18 assorted silkie eggs that will be on their way to me on Monday. Should arrive by Wednesday and will be going in the incubator on Thursday. Who knows where that will lead me

Oh no!
I think out if my eggs that are set and due aug 3rd all but 1 or 2 stopped developing
I candled thus afternoon, but I am going to re candle because it wasn't really all that dark and hard to see.... Fingers crossed there are more that are ok!
