August Hatch-A-Long!

Also - I have had no rocking prior to the pipping - is that weird?

Are you hatching flat or in cartons? My first batch in cartons I saw almost no movement, and it didn't end well. I thought it was maybe because of the cartons, but this time there are tiny (2-4 seconds max) "wiggles" in the carton, haven't seen a lot, but just a couple give me more hope.....Wishing you a great hatch!!!!

What a beautiful chicky!!!!!

Thank you! Anything more than the last hatch is an improvement! No blood rings or quitters this time, but not all were fertile, or in the case of the Ams, maybe older, but Rox came through for me really well, and this is a confidence booster for hatching. This one is also very pretty and one of the breeds/varieties I really wanted. How are all the chickies on your front?

YAY!

I just got my first batch of hatching eggs today and set them under my super broody hens. Beautiful blue eggs of the Crested Cream Legbar were put under our silkie momma, and some darling tiny Serama eggs under our bantam Cochin.

I hope the girls are happy cause all they want to do is SIT.

Today is day one, so that means I should be expecting babies on the 20th and 22nd? CAN'T WAIT!

Any of you pros have some good tips for me...besides BE PATIENT....feel free!

Also anyone in the SW Washington area that may be wanting a Boy or pair from these pending hatches, let me know!

Congratulations! What a beautiful hen :)

Ok, so here are pics of the first two chicks all fluffed up now (well 2nd one is mostly fluffed). So now what do you think they are?

This is Sunshine the first baby to hatch this morning.

This is Butterscotch the second baby to hatch about 10 hours later.

Do they look like these Golden Sexlinks?

They are flat, but it is only day 19 so I guess it could have wiggled a bit at some point since I wasn't yet watching them closely.
