August Hatch-A-Long!

My 2 that are hatched are doing well, my very first pip from yesterday is still stuck

He has been in there over 20 hours now. I finally peeled back a little shell to get a better view of what was going on because I was afraid he was stuck with his head on the left side. Still not sure on that, but did discover he had pipped below the air cell and I guess was just lucky. It also looked like he'd hit a couple blood vessels which must be why he's made no progress. I peeled back some shell at what should have been the zip line and confirmed his inner membrane was very dried out but still full of blood vessels. I used a qtip with water to moisten him back up, wrapped him in a warm wet paper towel and put him back in the hatcher. I hope he makes it

The other 2 wild child chickies are flipping and flopping all over the place in there. They have rolled a couple pips down toward the floor, but eventually rolled them back up. I am hoping they won't peck at slow poke and break another blood vessel, poor little guy. Have a few with their snouts in the air singing me songs from the egg. But nothing more going on for now.

This is why I hatch in trays or cartons! I hate when they roll the eggs......lol

How many you have left?
That Lav is going to be beautiful!

2 Lav Orps and 1 mix still to go, one of the Orps has pipped, but at the bottom, so watching it. The first mix is mostly black with a little buff on face and little white tips on some of the fluff, looks like an EE, mom was a buff orp, so guess the Lav Am roo got her, lol. Looks more like a pea comb baby anyway, so thats what I'm going with. Then it's a couple more weeks till the SFH hatch! Candled them just to see tonight, and all but 1 have nice veins and some even have a little eye it looks like. Good luck with selling those last 4 brahmas! The 3 I got from you are doing great!
