August Hatch-A-Long!

Last night was day 10 and I had to pull out 4 eggs out of 14. 1 early death and 3 didn't start (I blame summer heat). One of the 10 left in the bator looks iffy. ..I saw 2 eyes floating around ( I think).

"2 eyes floating around (I think)" lol, I know what that looks like! I love your profile pic...Cute!

Aww, why do baby chicks have to be so darn CUTE?!? Lol

This was my first time attempting incubation; treated myself to a Genesis for my birthday. I put 20 eggs in, thinking since it was my first time it might not go well. 17 out of 20, with 1 dud and 2 early-deaths later... I feel like it's beginner's luck! It was really special to see a lot of them hatch - especially adorable when others would go over and be like 'hi, friend!' and try to help by pecking egg shell.

This is absolutely addicting! Now I have fuzzbutts as far as the eye can see. I certainly didn't expect this many new babies. Barnyard mix of Light Brahma x EEs, Partridge Rocks, SC Leghorns. Can't wait to see the colors and traits taken (especially excited for feathered legs).

That is Fantastic! But don't tell my husband...he already suspects I'm addicted, ;)

My goodness at all the cuteness going on here today! These beautiful mixed babies make me so EGGcited to see what's going to come out of the eggs in my bator. They're all barnyard mixes! I'm going to candle them tonight and see what's going on in there. Hopefully I will see some veining.

NO WAY! I just won 12 + Blue Breda eggs on ebay from Rare Feathers Ranch for $30 total !!! Woohoo, my Quechuas and Colloncas will have company after all, LOL! http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Blue-Bre...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
With more than twelve, I have a good shot of getting at least one viable chick of each sex. I am so psyched!! I had a $30 limit and if I didn't get those it would have been these Bielefelder eggs http://www.ebay.com/itm/261258300732?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

That's AMAZING!!!! Bredas are so beautiful! Good luck!

My internet cut out, I'm at a different computer at school. Right now I have two pips and one about to pip! One egg I think had a blood ring, but the other two are growing well. One due for lockdown in two days!
