I read something somewhere (try googling) that if you get eggs with air cells like that you can start incubating without turning for something like five days. It is suppose to help reset the air cells. Also let them rest at least 24 to 36 hrs before incubating. I will try to find the article and post it if I do.I would PM Sally SunshineIt's worth a shot to hatch these Good luck! sorry to hear about your loss, the ones that survive we appreciate that much more.

The hen is only a year old, so it shouldn't be age. I'm thinking that if it was incubator problems then the others would have this problem too..or at least some of them. It's only from this particular hen. At first I thought it could be that the eggs were too old, but it even happened with one that went straight from the nest box to the bator. Ugh! It's so frustrating trying to figure this out! If it weren't for the fact that I really want some of her babies for our breeding project I wouldn't be as concerned. :/
Quote: oh that reminds me I read that too!! not to turn them for a few!
Carolina let me know what the suggestion is...curious...I haven't had that problem with my home growns but with some from certain breeders
oh that reminds me I read that too!! not to turn them for a few!
Quote: oh did I post that to you? I meant it for a person with detached air cells in some shipped eggs...the chicken lady...remembered and I was just saying I remember reading that too...
I curious about your situation....I'm sure I read at some point that it's minerals missing in the parents...I tried researching but didn't come up with much...then you know how it goes you start looking things up and end up reading...good stuff...but not what you originally were looking for ! lol![]()

My hen just took a break! I gave her some sunflower seeds, she was calling her eggs kinda like how a rooster calls his hens! it was so cute!! 1 week till her eggs hatch!!
