It was worse but I lost 2 whole batches that aren't even listed and I've tossed over have of some of those all because of battery issues with my thermostats.
I am doing a 2 day control test now just to be sure. My eggs are already doing so much better.
I try to spot than more good eggs show up.
May get some more legbars eggs for shipping only at the end of this month. paid a lot for them the lady said she'd ship me some at the end of hatching season (does it end?) she said August or September. I just love hose chickens.....So I those show up I'll hatch them even if they have to stay in the house all winter.....LOL
My 4 moth old Black copper marans choked to death on some plastic today. That is a first. Found him laying out there. Got to looking and he had plaster netting in his throat . that was awful. he was going tobe a beautiful bird....
Really hope everyone's eggs do better from here on out. There have been so many problems with hatches in the last 2 months. Wonder what is happening to the little chickies to be.
Yes I agree, As for myself I have 96 in the bator and 3 days in my heater started Screwing up and i was at about 98. tried swapping the heater, didn't unplug the power but just disconected the wires form power. touched a wire to ground and fried the heating outlets on the controller, tried using heater without control just using vents. BIG MISTAKE. temperatures between 96 and 104 . Then tried just with light bulbs. Temp about the same but humidity around 20%. finally on Day 5 got a friend to put in a temp thermostat till my new controller arrives. temp is between 99-101. Its not that accurate. I tried candling a some eggs and they're are alot that don't look good but I think I may have 10-20 that might hatch. Awful first attempt.
Fuzzy butt: splash of some sort. Has a grey dot between its shoulders
It had a tiny vein attached to the brownish grey blob that is usually left on the shell. I did a "no-no" & opened up the bator (it was 10% higher than I wanted anyway) & dabbed it with iodine.
On day 17 I took everything out & disinfected the bator again. *fingers crossed* things go smoothly. It's day 21 today. 2 eggs to go! I will be surprised if they hatch, hopefully one will more will hatch or this thing will be in a sling across my chest for the next 24-48 hrs lol
