I got up this morning and this is what I see. Day 21 isn't even until Saturday! No Barnevelder babies yet. But I still have hope!

Babies! We are on day 20 here and nothing yet..I think my temps were a little low (fixed now with calibrated thermometer) Now I just got to quit staring at them or they wont hatch LOL

My chicks are 2 weeks old now and I decided to put them in cage outside for the day. I live in Florida and its like 90 degrees out. I was going to just bring them in at night but almost thinking about leaving them out?? Does anyone think there is a problem with it? They are eating and drinking. They are starting to be brats and scrapping. Thought maybe a change of scenery

I guess I will just bring them back in at night..lol I just read they are ok as long as temp isn't below 80 and I'm not for sure at night. I really doubt it below 80 but just to be safe.

What are the temps like at night?

FINALLY, I have 2 pips (that I can see) and there is a ton of tapping and chirping going on in the incubator! I'll post pics when they finally make their way out

MY FIRST EVER EXTERNAL PIP TURNED INTO THIS!

I thought I was losing my mind this morning at about 3:30 am, hearing noises coming from the bator! (For the first time in three weeks, we had no tv (cable was out) and no fans running as it was 57 degrees out)...so after confiding in a fellow member that I thought I had given my mind away to science...the science of hatching...I looked in to check my humidity and low and behold, an actual pip....this is the happiest I have been all year...kind of afraid to see what will happen to me when I finally 'come down' off this natural HIGH!
I owe you BYC'ers a LOT! Knowing I can't count chickies just yet, but to even get this far means a lot to me...
Thanks everybody...

Now if the last update wouldn't have screwed me up to post pics I would be more than ready share my wealth. Will sit tight as I am sure it will take less time to fix that then it will for this chick to formally come out and int]
roduce 'her'self!
Yipppppeeeee!
Now I have to have another happily sleepless night as I sit here, stock still, and stare down this bator! I wish I coulda done this level of concentration in school! I'd have a job with a livable wage right now :).
