Glad to get the extras lol won two dozen. My bator holds 50 without stacking any extra. Usually run 80% or better hatch rate on local eggs. First time trying shipped eggs

I cant wait to see the baby chicks that everyone will have next month.....

. I set my eggs last night but now the temps are all over the place. 98.6 to as high as 101.6, but the humidity is steady 44.

I have 4 different settings so far. The first should hatch around the end of July. The rest staggered through August. I'll be setting eggs about every 5 days till I get my flock built up again after losing so many to mink.

What kind of eggs have you got in? and sorry about you losing your birds had a similar thing happen with mine, had so many birds of prey this year which has never really been a problem before.

Best breed in the world, Black Penedesenca. IMHO

I have 6 chicks from the flocks that were all killed. All the eggs in now and those that will be set are from a single flock and a single rooster. Makes it tough to work on genetic diversity when you lose 11 roosters.

My eggs arrived by mail today

One broke

but the rest look good. Letting them settle from the ride and hopefully putting them under my broody by Monday!!!

Lockdown!! Woohoo now just to wait patiently... Might have to go out tomorrow to stop myself checking the viewing window every two minutes lol!
