They are. Thank you. I also had 2 older Silkies that I put in with the younger ones. They are almost a month old but not really that much bigger than the babies. They all seem to be getting along together.

This is a candling I did for my niece, 5 years old, and cousin, 2 years old. Had to send it to them via video because this was done at around 10 or 11 o'clock at night. Thought maybe others would like to see my hopeful hatches. I also have around 30-40 other muscovy duck eggs being hatched and a turkey egg. Maybe a few bantam chicken eggs, but I am very doubtful about them.

Hi!! Hope all eggs and babies are doing wonderful for everyone! I'm on day 12 and day 10 for my groups

I was wondering what number most of you are keeping your humidity? I have a still air bator. I took a peek at all my chickies and I'm feeling like most might be a little small on the air sacs. Some are good. I know its saying to lower humidity if small air sac and raise if large air sac, I believe...lol I'm thinking maybe letting the humidity stay around 35 to 40?? What does everyone think? And if I do this till lockdown, what should I raise the humidity to at that point? Maybe 65?? Thanks for any suggestions

I don't add any water until day 18. That keeps my humidity at about 35-40% for the first 18 days. Then, I add water and bump the humidity up to 65-70% for hatching. I have had good luck with this so far.

Ok...Thank you! I think I had my humidity a little to high

. I guess I will try to keep it back down for the next 6 days

Yeah, I'd lower the humidity until lockdown.. Since you are using a still air incubator, I'd definitely recommend moving the eggs around in the incubator occasionally. Still air incubators will have warmer and cooler areas. It can cause some eggs to develop quicker and some to develop slower which will stagger your hatch even more. I have a styrofoam still air incubator and experienced that issue with my march hatch. We rigged up a fan for it before my last hatch. It has been MUCH more easy to regulate the temperature. It might be worth trying for your next hatch. :)

Hi everyone,

First off, I wish everyone here best success for happy hatchlings! You are all my inspiration.

Feel like the newest newbie and just want to keep a 'grip' on my first ever journey into chickendom......
Just 'won' a batch of English Lavender Orpingtons yesterday, on eBay, and have officially begun to lose it!

So, of course, NOW I am having major problems with PayPal! Can't believe it. Will hope seller allows me to rise above it and move on.?!? Wish me luck anyone, I feel I am gonna NEED it.
I have too much stuff to worry about waiting for new arrivals. (Sooo happy you guys are out 'there', can't even begin to tell ya!)
Need all the help I can get!

Big thanks to BYCers, you are the Golden eggers for me.

Hope to heck I come back with some chicky pics in September

Look forward to seeing everyone progress to healthy happy babies.

yeah, I probably will get a fan but I havn't had a problem with my temp at all or my humidity. I'm the one that stupidly added water and had the humidity around 55. Its possible they are just fine but just kinda feel that some are a little small on the air sacs. Not going to worry about it to much. Maybe I can look in at them a little more without hurting the humidity...lol Might help to lower it a little. Right now I cant move the eggs much inside, I have 26 eggs in the turner. I'm going to get rid of the eggs without life in a couple days and then will have more room.
