Just for fun: eight tame-wild chicks were orphaned. Six have not been sighted for some time – quite natural, they are old enough to be independent. However, for whatever Darwinist reason, two of the chicks have elected to stay with Aunty Uno. Uno chick is their big sister, now an adult, but somehow still named ‘Chick.’ (The surname of all the other emus here is ‘Emu,’ as in ‘Felicity Emu.’)
So this is a truly rare photo, guys. It’s Uno and the two cheepers out by the lily pilly tree. (Native fruit. Emus love them.):
