ROZZIEE!!! Thank you SO SO SO MUCH for calling me (and omg would you believe I know someone from ANOTHER forum named Rozzie and thought you were her? hahaha sooorry!!!!!)

....Anyway

I got my internet back. It was taken down two days ago. My husband and I went out and did cleanups and recon missions of the survivors. As far as we can tell all our mising friends bar one is alive... we're not sure about that last one and we'll find tomorrow when his pub comes back from being underwater.

BUT! All is good here and all is good with the people I know. We've got food and shelter. Everyone is helping everyone. A stranger fed me today as I was clearing someone's home.

I found an 88 year old woman's ornate box when clearing and when I handed it to her she broke down... apparently her husband had brought it back for her from the war when he was a POW. And she thought it was gone... It was a moment that'll stay with me for life.

ROFL! Those identity mix-up things happen. No big deal! Rozzie is not that unusual of a log-in name. This is the only board where I use it as a log-in. It's a random selection for the Internet and has nothing to do with my "real" name, which is kind of funny.

I'm glad that your friends (so far) are okay and do hope the last one you are worried about is safe, as well! It was nice to talk to you. We'll have to chat again when things settle down a little for you.

Well, with all that said, I am holding out hope everyone is ok and this comes to an end soon so people can clean up and go back to their lives!

Though I know its not that simply done.

Self-sufficiency is amazing. My husband thought I was PSYCHO before this, he said I was paranoid and had major issues... yesterday he said to me, "Hey can we afford to buy a couple 20kg (50lb) bags of corn and rice this week!?" Hahahahaha. And then he was talking about building a bomb shelter! And how we'd keep all our grains there and he was going to get me that pressure canner I wanted for vegetables... and how he was going to go fishing soon (so many worms to do so now!) and I could can all his fish so we could have it in the bomb shelter.... and and and... it was SOOOO adorable. I said to him, "I thought I was paranoid...." and he said, "You were, but you were also RIGHT. You're always right."

Ah it's good to win.

I'm glad that pretty much everyone I know and even 2nd hand friends of friends are all safe. <3
