Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Sounds like a very nice mixed flock and some very original names there

.

Well I used to have 25 chickens and 2 ducks but now I am down to 1 White Leghorn rooster called Pew Pew ( favorite ) he is so friendly, 2 WLH hens, 2 French Wheaten Marans, 2 RIR bantams, 1 bantam frizzle, 3 Australian Black Langshans and 5 new chicks. 4 are WLH's and one is a bantam x WLH.

I am going into breeding WLH's ( hopefully ).

Is anyone else struggling to get replies from sellers on GumTree.. I WANT TO BUY 3 DOZEN EGGS! WHY! Is it so hard to get a reply when they advertise so many breeds and say they have lots of eggs! Its not fair for us non-rooster crowd.. Hehehe i'm being silly now ;) it's annoying though..

Your are very welcome. How come you didn't get any pressies?

Hmmmm the seller is lurking here?..

I feel so mean but talking of phobias, I have a fear of white chickens

I love white silkies, it's the leg horns that slightly creep me out haha, maybe if i raise some though i will grow to love them? I used to not like the look of my RIR much, but now i adore her, she's my best looking chook in my eyes..

It was a quiet Christmas here! Parents always do the "we didn't know what to get you so you'll have to take us shopping with you", was a belated present i guess, and of course i got the most expensive thing i could con them into getting me hahaaaa

. Personally I think they are tops!
Are you an adult? Because no offense that's pretty crummy on your parent behalf. What did you get from them then?

I'm going to take you up on the leghorn challenge hahaha I reckon I'll learn to love them like the RIR hehe.. I'm 28 but still I'm a big kid at Christmas and like something to open! Haha it's allll gooood.. Funny enough the professionally built chicken coop and chooks were their presents! They've both wanted chooks for years so when they were away in September I had a professional builder come build the enclosure to match my mums pride and joy, garden and then the chooks to go with it obviously haha mum tears up almost weekly ever since saying it's the best present she's ever ever been given and dad adores the coop too.. I still got them little presents each to open Christmas morning though lol so was a tad awkward but I totally made them pay for it when I cut loose on their credit card:D

Thanks and I hope to mix it more. I'd like to do some breeding. I haven't picked a favourite though and I don't have acreage anymore.

I really like leghorns. It's a shame though they wouldn't stay in my yard. One escaping fowl is enough.

Here's some of the girls.
