Another lesson learn't the hard way this morning for me. Went to feed my white jap quails and found all dead bar 1 that has slight injuries but I think will be ok. The poor things were in a bad state some missing heads and some looked like the had just had all the feather ripped off. All I could find was a small hole in the welded wire that was not there the night before. @IamSamSam suggested a rat which I had not thought of... bummer... Well not long after the dogs kept running down there barking and I couldn't find anything til I said to thor what are you barking at. He stopped looked up the tree and sure enough a small goanna. I would never thought they would chew through welded wire... Another lesson learn't the hard way,:(

How horrible! Sorry to hear that Satay :(

Oh no!! I am very sorry for your loss Satay.
Goannas are very crafty buggers but I too would have thought eating wire was a bit advanced for them.

I locked up the two Isa Brown Biarches in the veggie garden and let Mamma and her two babies and the 9week olds out to roam.

I put the rest of the babies out on the grass and the Maran 11 day old boy attacked my hand !

protecting his flock as I grabbed them and put them in the bottom of the hutch.

The Cheek of it !

@rexy Is it as humid as hell at your place today ? So hot and humid here and the radar is showing nothing....

Sure is. My dry hatch is not very dry, humidity in the 'bator is hovering in the high 30's all week! Comes down during the day with the air conditioning, so goodness knows what will happen with these ones.

So humid and so dry, doesn't make sense. They originally said we (and you) were getting rain about now. Now they have changed their mind and we are getting nothing! AGAIN!!!
