Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

@Fancychooklady

Thanks, I might also try some of the the advice you gave kat. It sounds very similiar.

@satay

How long has it been missing? Chooks are good at hiding. After a dog/fox attack I've seen them hide for hours, and come out of the woodwork very slowly.
Granted I'am on a farm so they have plenty of good spots to hide. Anyway I hope it turns up.

She has been missing since about 10.30am. No feathers anywhere, just no sign of her. I found the 2 dead ones close to their cages but this little girl has just vanished...

Sorry to hear you have been under the weather FancyChookLady.

Once again, I need your help please?
I ran this little one on a bit longer than the other obvious roosters in the hopes it was a pullet. I thought I heard a crow attempt on the weekend but I was half asleep and it could have been one of the many many birds we have around here. Yesterday morning when I was feeding them before work, still a bit dark and they were just waking up and I heard what can only be described as two 'croaks'. This morning, nothing, just straight out of bed and into the breakfast bowl followed by a scratch in the run. Personality-wise I am undecided but not seeing anything strikingly rooster.

So, throwing it out there to you guys and gals, just on the pictures alone and at 8 weeks old; what do you think? What is your best guesstimate?

Very cute. Waddles and comb look rooish but I've had no experience with this breed.

At 8 weeks old ... that's a rooster. Pekin girls wont have that big a comb at 8 weeks.You are prob hearing practice crows. They sound so funny in pekins, My 5 months old ones had only tiny combs. I'll see if i can get a pic for you today of my young pair i bought recently so you can see the difference between boys and girls.
