Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

My quails are now in lockdown. 60 eggs. I am hoping for a much better hatch rate this time as last time i only got 6 from 24. My layers are only young so I am hoping with time the fertility will increase. Maxi the aracuana rooster has been with his girls nearly 2 weeks now So i am hoping after this hatch to be able to start hatching chickens again

WOW 60 eggs will you sell some if you have a high hatch rate. I would love to see a baby quail.

hey i hatched 76 quails about 4 weeks ago, very easy to keep, im going into lockdown with another batch of about 50 eggs on saturday.

i cant keep up with demand for quails, i have someone picking up balance of 40 quail chicks tomorrow, im keeping 6 females from the last hatch, need to build up some breeding stock,

Yes- it's big enough.
Have places where chooks can escape from others if necessary.
I put several perches up in the runs too- gives them quiet places to sit and get away from the crowd.

Boer goats are meat goats, but nobody I sell them to seems to buy them to eat,
just as pets.
hi ashburnham, im new to this site about september last year, question in regards to boer goats, how do you find them? are they easy to keep? im looking at getting a small herd for my farm. any tips? thank you sam aka sydney quailman.

Well i think you are a pretty smart novice :)

I used 5 average 13gm eggs for one chook egg. Worked a treat :)
Maybe you'll be able to give up houses and become a full time quail man lol. Not sure the commission would be as high lol
