Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Satay we also had awful winds here yesterday & a tree came down in my neighbours yard taking down their back fence.
I have also discovered that after chickens start laying the size of their poops increases dramatically!  I'm hoping to slightly reverse this trend by using fermented feed.  So far so good.  They scoff it down & there is no waste or spillage.   I've been mixing a few feeds to get a grainy porridge.  Best of all is that they are scoffing up the pellets that they didn't seem to like. :D

Trees coming down in the city suburbs can be awful. Thankfully ours that came down were no where near the house. Jackie the friend I was ats place yesterday popped in before and we couldn't stop laughing at our close encounter. She said I am banned from coming over in the wind again l:D

Oh Fancy, can we have some? It is a dust bowl here. Chooks can have a dust bath in the middle of the "lawn". Back lawn is nearly dead, all my mondo and other grasses in the garden beds have died.

Lol, we just herded the goats up and gave them a pedicure and a drenching . Two of us slipped over in the mud. At least the sun is out today. :)

Barnie Maxma laid her first egg today while I was down cleaning out dad's unit. It was a lovely surprise

Hubby was in NSW last week Sam and flying back in Wednesday . He was only in Sydney for 20 mins when he remembered why we left the ' big smoke ' .
This trip he will be doing airplane , train, automobile , truck then ship. All in 5 days.

Hi fancy.

Thought i woul give you a little bit of an update.

I ended up going to the vets and she gave me baytril antibiotics. She said it may not help my little belgium with swollen sinus. ..... BUT after two days her sinus is completely down. Wahoo. I will keep her inside for the test of week to make sure she has fully recovered.

Not so good news for my black one with mites aroind her eyes. After powdering her eyes did not seem so irritated and they now do not stay closed or need washing. The vet said to give her baytril aswell since ahe had been with other chickens with respiratory. She has very few short burst where she will eat for 1min and them go back to her sad state.

She must have some other underlying issue as she still cant stand or walk around and is top heavey... Just rolls. Her right legs does not work and her legs are actually turning black and spreading up her legs- i am thinking because no circulation. I have been putting vaseline on them because dried and some scales lifted.

My husband and i are going to take her to the bet tmro to put her down. It is for the best and i don't want her to suffer any more. Very sad but at least I have had a couple of days to prepare myself.

Hi flamie. I'm glad that you have success with one of your girls. It's a hard decision but sometimes one we have to make. All part of owning and loving animals.

lol I wish I could get out. But he will be exhausted when he gets home!

Flamie sorry about your black girl! Good news about your other girl.
