I can see why you love him already. I have not known anyone to have brown leghorns before, I had a white girl years ago. She was a bit flighty but a great layer. I hope your girls and guy all stay nice and friendly and you get to have great enjoyment out of them.

I picked up a bag of Laucke Mills Red Hen Layer today and will use the rest of the bag of organic feed I had as scratch. Fingers crossed for more eggs!! Only got two eggs this week out of a possible 3 laying girls and both by the same girl

My 10 brown leghorn bantam hens (9 months old) and rooster (he said it was 'old' ) I have 5 names so far: Henny, Penny, Bertie, Gertie (hens) and George (rooster) any other names would be helpful (need 6 more LOL)

I have Milly, Molly, Mandy, Freckles, Sunny, Birdie (short for Bertha)' Little Red (who started as Henny Penny), Hope, Ruby, Bluemoon, Tinkerbell and Snow White. My grand kids named them all.

Talking about names for chickens,I had a call from an old BYC buddy today and she was telling me that her roo prefers the young hens, lol I said you should call him Geoffrey as in Eddleston. He only likes the young ones.
