I have my own 'summer is here' indicator ... when hubby pulls the portable pool out of the shed and sets it up then I know it is warming up .. he loves his pool. The pool is still in the shed but I do not think it will be too long before it gets dusted off; I have seen him longingly looking at the spot it normally goes :)

It's not summer out here til it hits 40c but I am enjoying the around 28c or so we are having at the moment.

Hedwig, the other leghorn cross, is now fluffed up & hogging the nest. I am hoping she is taking a while to lay her egg, but have a sneaking suspicion I have a second broody. If that's the case I will either have to break her of her broodiness or share out the eggs Snowy is already sitting on. Day 6 today so hopefully that will work out. I also saw Snowy off the nest just after I let the hens out to graze.
