Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Yep, we'd be there shoulder to shoulder.

. I do lol

I saw a video once, not sure if the link was posted in here, it was taken at a hatchery and was of a conveyor belt of chicks being sorted. I am not going to look for it or post it; very sad and made me cry

You can sign me up for the protest if it becomes the norm here

Oh goodness on a conveyor belt? How sad

You can count me in on any protesting!

While our cruelty laws are good, we are still lacking in the powers of seizing animals etc that the US can and do. You only have to watch Animal Cops on Animal Planet to realise the RSPCA and other animal control here aren't able to do anywhere near as much as they can.

Yep Fancy I did wonder how anyone can work in a place like that and do the things they do but it is not my place to judge and they may need the money ... having said that, I would starve before I worked there!

K Spot sadly, the conveyor belt was not the worse bit

Agreed, while we have the protection laws, we do not have the rights or enough people to enforce them.

Thanks Teila . Very disturbing indeed. I do wonder what has happened to human kind where not only is a place like that able to operate but that anyone could work there and sleep at night.:hit :he

I think of it as my army voice. And yes, your passionfruit was huge! Biggest I've seen, just looks like a different fruit & must be a different cultivar/something. Just one more thing I have to get used to, along with waking up thinking I'm in an aviary in Summer because of all the bird noise (wild birds - not chickens where's my five course breakfast noise). Darn, its tough.

Teila, I was going to suggest your frizzle was trying to lure a few chicks off Cilla, but Satay got there first. I'm surprised that Cilla hasn't sorted that right out though.

There do seem to be a few options for moving chooks around without posting them, so hopefully there will never be a need for that here. We just had a new animal transport business open up here. I hope it makes enough money to keep going, because it sounds like a good way of doing it.
