Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Congrats on the new additions sjturner79, did you get 3 new Silkies and only have the two chickens before?

RodneyRooster yep, that does sound hopeful. More of a ‘know your place’ warning than a full on attack. Keep a water pistol handy, just in case

Congrats on a good comp and awesome photos! I have met Ray Martin and agree he is a lovely man. My Ex was Chief Engineer at one the TV stations and I was lucky enough to meet Ray and go to dinner with him and the rest of the crew; he is not ‘up himself’ or full of his ‘own self importance’ at all.

Aaaaw they are sweeties RodneyRooster!
Yeah, I hear ya regarding the naming thing but there is a method to my madness ;)

Bambrooks Bantams has a name-theme, being they are all named after female singers. As you can see in my sig, we have Cilla, Dusty, Blondie and LuLu and we have had Whitney, Tina, Suzi and Brittney (RIP my sweet girls).

I ran one little chick on a bit longer than the others in Cilla’s last hatch as I was not sure if it was a boy or girl and was good company for it’s sister (Blondie). Ended up naming it Tammy but then, of course, it turned out to be a boy and became Tommy and found a new home.

I know it is silly, but now I have had a Tammy, I can’t have another one. So, not taking chances on the names I have picked, definitely not getting them until I know for sure.

Congrats on the blue/green egg cwrite! I had a chuckle at the story and the cat
My son named a heap of our young ones from girls in his class years ago. We did end up with a zoe the rooster.:lau

We had a long day at the Hamilton show yesterday and I got home just before dark to feed the hungry hoards. Unfortunately the hawk came a visiting and took one of my partridge silkies. :(
Our daughter had a great comp, and I took some lovely pics. The guy kneeling down in front is tv presenter Ray Martin, he is publishing a book on his travels . What a lovely man, just fit right in . Loved the boys, (rusty and Jack )

Jess is quite the talent Fancy. Sorry you lost your silkie.:hugs

My funny for the weekend. Went to Brissy on Saturday for our birthday dinner with the family. We decided to go to a Chinese place near my mums. My lovely nephew Samuel had finished dinner and was getting a bit bored while others were finishing so I decided to take him to look at the fish tanks. We are looking at all the lovely fish and coral when out of no where Samuel yells Kymmy they are taking the food out of the bins..(the look on his face was priceless) I look around to see two Staff members filling prawn chips into bags from a clean old style plastic garbage bin. I thought the ladies were going to fall off their chairs laughing. I told him it's ok that a clean one and not used for rubbish. I really don't think he was convinced as he kept saying it's a bin kymmy a bin ..:lau
