If I had 3 Broodies now that the chicks have just hatched I would have 0 layers- unless one of the Broodies was the rooster.

I hope the jul/August hatch start laying soon- although I'm not certain that the silkie x and EE are hens.

The chicks are 25 days old today. I'm starting to be able to pick out the boys from the girls. My Ancona roo seems to be the father of most if not all of them - unsurprising as he's head roo and tends to discourage the others mating.

Most of the babies are black or black and white - but little Lothos looks just like his Lavender Araucana mumma and I love him so. He's so beautiful. I have literally no idea if he is really a he. I'm still very beginner-class at identifying anything without a single comb but those legs...

Opinions? Isn't he beautiful? I just want to cuddle him.

Wow blondie does not like being unable to sit. Pity you don't have a good market round there that you coul let her grow some out then get rid of them again.

All Telia's bantams have 2 names. Thier normal names and thier broody names.
Mine don't change anything like hers do.
