Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

He's finally here. :weee meet Castiel. He made his appearance at 1-30 am and after many failed attempts at nursing we finally got to bed at 5-30 am.

Yep, apparently they take ugly to a whole new level lol

My diamond doves sure do. Let's just say they need to grow into themselves. My over achiever budgie has started laying again. Omg. I thought that would be it for this season but apparently she has other ideas. 2 eggs in the box when i checked yesterday,

Also for my turkeys the are over a month old now and I was wondering when could I put them with my main flock as I am worried bout them getting black head disease

My turkeys lived with the chooks from the day they were born. Never had a problem with black head or anything like that. I only have 2 gobblers left now which are 6 years old the youngest and big g the oldest is older again but given him as he wandered into someone property, I have had him 7 years. They live with some pekin bantams and all get along fine.

Good morning Friends

appps good thinking on the chunnel! Yep, we have some hot days predicted this week but not as bad as yours, I think our max one day may be around the 34 deg.

Fancy thank you for the interesting but scary Hawk info. As I mentioned, I have not seen Hawks around here but also comforted myself with the fact that our yard was not really a good spot for take off and landing; I will now be extra vigilant now I no longer have that comfort. Having said that, if the stories about Crows being a Hawk deterrent are fact, with all the Crows around here, no chance of seeing a Hawk

I hope that Cas is on the improve and yep, definitely better to be safe than sorry. Poor little guy does look all tuckered out in that photo which is absolutely adorable!

Anniebee oooh yeah, you do not mess with Dusty! As we do not have a rooster in the flock, Dusty has sort of taken on that role in that she breaks up fights and protects her friends. She does, however, draw the line at sharing food or feeding them

The Crows were a no show this morning so hopefully that beating and subsequent Crow nattering among themselves has resulted in them moving on for a while.

cwrite while a bit of a problem child, your little visitor is cute! Nice egg basket!

Tee hee devinandfeather, as always, the goings on at your place makes me tired just reading about it

i put chilli powder in there food 1 week every month or so after my tom got it from the chooks and the chilli powder "cured" him. Haven't seen it since and that was 12mths ago. They cant taste the heat so it doesnt worry them or the chooks.

We are waiting expectantly here :). I "think" Wednesday is day 14 and from what I can tell they hatch day 14-16. Not sure what we will do if it does hatch though. My sister can't keep it, she is hiding the two she has from the landlord. If it goes back to the breeder he has so many he only keeps the best so will probably end up culled. I'm thinking we are going to inherit it and wondering if it could share the end of the chook run if I put a little house in there for it. Not planning too far ahead in case it doesn't hatch though.
