Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks. Yes, unfortunately I disposed of the body as I had to go and teach. The current antibiotics SEEM to be having an impact. Keeping the chickens and peafowl seperate while I monitor. Thanks for your expertise in this. Cheers.

Your welcome. Just keep a note of which antibiotic is most effective as with some of the CRD 's you may experience relapses in the future. Generally only when the birds are under stress.
There are gram pos and gram neg bacteria ,the trick is knowing which one you are dealing with.

No. None. Deceased bird had clear eyes. No mucus observable UNTIL day before death when clear mucus discharged from beak after drinking. No sinus swelling. No inflamed facial tissue. Wheezing rather than gurgling, with distended neck for periods. Sneezing without discharge. Comparatively active until day before death. Had ceased laying.

Current birds with suspected infection sneezing irregularly and head shaking. No discernible discharge. No swelling. Still laying. Symptoms minor. Deceased bird symptomatic 18 days ago.

I alternate between Avitrol plus and Cydectin

In the absence of any other symptoms I'm just wondering if the upper respiratory symptoms that they are displaying is linked to some other health issue. Chickens are inclined to display the classic wheezing when stressed by things like egg peritonitis, egg binding and even a heavy burden of parasites. Cydectin ( moxidectin ) , just like ivermectin is not an effective wormer. It is only worth a try if your birds have mites. Just a thought, but levamisole is a very effective product and also readily available .

Thanks so much guys. Yes the chickens were there first, the horrid man also wants her aged ponies gone. Unfortunately he has friends on council and they are ignoring the fact that many of her customers aren't even here in tassie, but online. She's a fighter and the legal costs have her at breaking point. All of her other neighbours have been in to the shop and signed the petition.
It's BS and every signature helps.

Seriously? In other states councils can't re-zone land without due process. In Queensland the owner of the land can apply, but otherwise if the council wants to there is consultation and neighbourhood planning. Long processes. I'm wondering if the Council have followed the processes according to their legislation which I think would be the same as Qld, empowered by State legislation. Have they gone to their state MP and state minister for local government. I noted you said they have incurred legal costs so have no doubt checked the legality of the councils actions. Sometimes the political approach works better than legal action. Depends on the laws which I wouldn't mind seeing.

I went on their Facebook page and when I see comments like
" ... sadly the petition rules with the council are that the names and addresses and signatures have to be "in writing" and we cannot lodge a online petiton or one that is not handwritten by each person..." I get suspicious that the council aren't following accountable processes - what rule. I'd like to see that local law. Sometimes people need to know what power the council has and does not have.

I think the wording of the petition needs to be about the re zoning and not the business trading.
