Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

satay ..... a horrid experience. ... but so glad to know that you, your home, fur babies and your chookies all survived.

Sure hope that is just a one off experience. Heard about the torrential rains, but not the hail. And now all those downed gum trees to be dealt with.

Good thoughts to you - for the clean up you face.

Cheers. ....

Morning everyone. Well yesterday i had the day from hell. We copped the full impact of the storm that hit esk. Never been so scared in my life. About 9.30am the sky went from day to midnight in about 30 seconds flat. Then all hell broke loose. I end up huddled in the hallway with thor and the cat for 20mins. The winds were like nothing i have ever seen in my life. The windows almost blew in. We had golf ball sized hail. Once it finally stopped i went out and by some miracle nothing had hit the house but we have 50 odd gum trees down Some how my Belgians survived a gum tree taking out both of their houses. My neigbour above had here huge carport torn off and mangled. Lost my clothes line and all of my banana plants. Looks like the storm trashed just our estate here as the rest of esk got only light rain. I'll post some pictures when get a chance.

Wow the storm really hit you guys hard! Thankfully you are all okay!

I just wrote 3 full pages on what a Hamburg looks like for my TAFE assessment..... my assessment is about nutrition for poultry...
I have to take care of a pet for 2 weeks so I chose my Hamburg cockerel.

Sorry to hear you had such a hard time. I hope the clean up is going well. Thank goodness your Belgians were safe, its amazing how bad something can be but have no loss of life. Except the trees and bananas. I hope that's the last you see.

Good morning folks

So, I was sitting working yesterday when all of a sudden it went from calm to really strong wind, totally out of the blue. I looked at the radar thinking a storm was coming; nope, nothing near us. It lasted about 1 minute, freaked the girls out and then back to calm. Thought it strange but went back to work. However, reading on FB last night, a tornado touched down at Brisbane airport and I am now thinking what passed through here was probably the remnants .. Glad it did not touch down here.

Big weekend of lawn mowing, coop cleaning, BBQ cleaning [so I can sell it] and hopefully finishing off the shed .. have a good one all!

I'm glad all your girls are safe. We got strong winds and rains yesterday but the ducks were happy with that. The chooks usually come camp out on our verandah and make a mess until it passes. We've had a huge week here with my daughter having difficulties at school. She was home yesterday so the animals all got big hugs! We have a broody chook at the moment and she has scared her out of the pen a few times. She got the egg from her this morning but didn't want to put it in the fridge because she thought it was fertile. She finally gets they are all girls now haha. She is holding out for duck babies.

The ducks now have all their feathers.
