Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Well the girls all made it through a 45c day yesterday.(extreemly humid too) It was still 31c at midnight last night. The chickens did fine but the poor turkeys were struggling so I turned on the sprinkler and they had a ball playing under it for nearly an hour. Suppossed to be slightly cooler to day. Hard to think this time last year we were all flooded and now we are in drought and roasting from the heat but then again that's Australia for ya.
Hope all the other Aussies are staying cool .

Sorry, couldn't resist. Glad you all made it through! Edited to add - only had one 46 degree day in my life, living in NSW near Richmond,I had 2 air conditioners going, all the fans and one dog covered in wet towels. I really feel for you,so please don't think otherwise!

I'm so glad we're back in the high 20's or 30's, a few 40+ days were more than enough. Do you chickens like the sprinkler? I sprayed my pens and chickens in the heat and some liked it but some acted like I was murdering them!

They did all seem happier afterwards though.

Rare, my chickens run away when i turn the sprinlker on lol. Top temp of today was 43.2 c slightly better than yesterday but could still come down more.

Edited to add; No air con here only ceiling fans that do a great job of moving the hot air around and around the house lol. I do have a lovely green house that i put on a few times today just so i can stand under the misters lol.

What did you buy?

DH is strictly a Ford guy but I'm not so fussy, I just want something reliable that will tow a float.

I got an updated model of the old one. Still an old car- its a 1999 Holden VS series III ute. Already had a canopy on it- and is is really good condition. I found out looking at the log books that it was owned by the Ballarat Council- so that explains why its had every service and looks to be in such great condition. Only thing I found wrong with it so far is the air con button is broken - but luckily its in the on position so to use it I just have to turn the fan on. Seems great on petrol as well.

Its so nice to have a reliable car. Now I just have to sell off the one I bought to get around in since the accident.

Very nice! Great it has it's books and full service history. Ex gov cars are usually in very good condition.

I don't consider '99 old by the way.

My 'new' car is a 92.

I hope you get a good price for the one your selling and that it sells quickly for you.

I sold both the other cars today!! It was a little funny- had 2 phone calls at work- both guys turned up within 20 minutes of each other and each bought one of the cars! back to a one car household again. Just as well too- I noticed a for sale sign on the house next door today. Im sure they will get much better offers for there house if next door doesnt look like a used car lot.
