Bush/grass fire. It is so dry and windy, all it needs is a spark from mowing grass or something to set it off.
Not right near us, but pretty close. I think they mostly have it contained now.

It does. Already the rfs have responded to well over 50 fires in our (large) area. And the hotter it gets, the faster they will get out of control.
Feeling kind of impatient in the moment, as I'm still waiting for my training before I can start helping out.

After me saying how dry it's gonna be, rained all of yesterday It was needed so not going to complain.

I know, we got about 20 or something. Very grateful for it! And the chooks loved it

I laugh because all the chickens that had range of the paddock got very wet, Cloud was no longer a frizzle
And the silkies must've stood in the rain or something, cause even with the added tarp all three of them were soggy and needed towel drying and to sleep in the shed.

Bela wasn't a frizzle any more either! I think he liked it the least, poor chap.
The others were mud bathing, I doubt they will ever look white again
