Wish I had $1000 and the space! I could get 4 hens and a roo from the giant jersey blacks that are importing this or next year ! *Crying here*
The Jersey Giants are beautiful, I am definitely going to get some when they become available!! There are heaps of breeds I am interested in from the imported birds... have you seen the Sumatras?? They are stunning!

Just a quick question. My cockerel was causing some stress to my POL pullets, he has gone but wondering how long till they relax and be happy again??

To be honest I'm not sure mine even noticed ours was gone. I expected them to be a bit lost for a few days and then do some sort if pecking order reestablish but I noticed nothing at all with them. And he was a nice roo to his girls.

So my guess would be that by tomorrow it will be like he never existed. Out of sight out of mind.

I just ordered a bcm pol and a trio of Chicks from Tasmania! Finalizing the order now if anybody wants to jump in on the order but be quick! She sells eggs for $10 each :hmm

400
400

.no they seem like they are happy no more riots going on..and no reordering either... They just seem so acceptable to stress I wasn't sure to the length of how long it takes for the stress to subside

Love your chooks and eggs Chook. I agree with appps. The only poultry I had look sad when her mate was lost was chooka the bantam Pekin. Her Muscovy drake mate died and she would go back to where they used to sit together at night looking for him for weeks. She used to sleep on him. Mostly they move on pretty quick though.

Thanks they are sweet little birds.... The foxes have been a real bother lately so if I'm out, the chooks are in. It ate one of my golden pheasants through the wire a couple of weeks ago
