Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I would be a bit worried about getting a rooster. I am completely impractical and cannot cull them. I think I have at least 3 in my new batch! Its nice to know where a good frizzle breeder is though. I have heaps of friends in Bris so they could always pick one up. But just dreaming at the moment as I have 16, too many but love them all.

No problems at all. I am good at hatching roosters too. My hubby works in Brisbane so I can get any extra breeds i need while he is down there for work. Got myself a nice male white runner in Brissy recently. it is good not being that far away from the city :)

Hi all Aussies, I so wish we could have an actual list of OZ members with their strengths. For example there would be certain members very experienced with incubating, others who are new to it (me-one batch). Some experienced with natural hatching of chooks (me) ducks (?) other poultry(?). We may even be lucky enough to have a vet amongst us??? Not that they would want to admit to it, poor things. I would love that we could post all our coops which must be so varied, so we could get advice? I would have no idea how we could achieve this?? Hoping one of you may be more techno than me. Oh well at least we have this, has anyone advised other Aussie thread of this one?

The other Aussie thread knows about this one. I have done lots of natural hatches from ducks, turkeys and chickens. I have done lots of incubating of chicken eggs and not so much of duck, I am about this weekend to start my first goose incuabtion thanks to advice from Ducky :). Duckyfromoz is the woman to go to for all your duck advice. Once you have been on this thread for a while you will easy be able to work out who to ask what advice from when it comes to your poultry needs.

How are you with cochin bantam colours?? Do we have an Aussie who is cochin oriented? I do not want to post on main as they are not show birds or anything but really interested in knowing colours of my new lot. They are about 7 weeks old. Thanks

My eggs are due tomorrow that I am hatching for my cousin. No sign of anything yet, Boy i hope some hatch as i know she paid a fortune for these eggs. Large fowl cochin. I keep looking every half hour for signs of pips it's driving me mad lol, best ban myself from the bator for a while.

I have two 6 wk old roosters already fighting BADLY. They are both my pick of the bunch! Dad smooth frizzle (cochin)/ Mum - Buff Cochin
Is there any Aussie interested in givig him a breeding/pet (NOT EATING) home? He is gorgeous but would need to be an ONLY rooster.
I will pay transport costs. His name at birth was Whitney (may need changing??) Very friendly to people, would be an excellent flock leader. I will post him on cochin website for their criticism!
PLEASE LET ME KNOW- HE IS GORGEOUS- WILL BE EXCELLENT BREEDER
