Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hi Satay, most dogs are pretty smart and wont go near something that hurts them. Leave it up for a few more weeks and see if he gets it again.  maybe have your video camera handy so you can video it.  HEHEHEHEHEHEHE.  Thats a bit naughty. Could turn into a bit of beer drinking entertainment.

Now thats funny :)

I have 3 new babies born on Saturday. 2 brahma and an aussie born under a cochin bantie. They are super cute chicks it is a shame the mother is so violent lol. I tried to get some pictures this morning and the mother was about to rip my face off lol. Have a bator full of brahma and aussie eggs due next wednesday and am having jap quail eggs delivered next week to refill the bator with. Never done quail before so that should be fun. Anyone else hatching or am I only only crazy one right now lol.

I have eggs in... Hatching some for myself at the moment so keeping it low numbers for a while. I found quail very hard to brood. Slight temp swings can finish them off very quickly and they are silly little things too- make sure they cant walk ion their water.. Yes- one of mine got itself wet and died.

Oh lordy Ducky I do like to take on challenges don't i lol. Thanks for the tips. Now to think of how to do the water. The guy I am buying the eggs from assures me he will walk me through the procees so we will see how I go. I got 3 dozen eggs cause i was paranoid they wont hatch lol.

Go to www.wyandotteblessings.com

They have limited stock each year but their Silver Lace's are beautiful. (see below) They are located in the Blue Mountains.

Hi Guys, how are you all? Been reading but not posting. My dad (blees him) is currently adding a 2m x 6m extension to my existing 4m x 6m coop. I know I have at least 5 teenage roos so need seperation room. They are pretty much pets & Roos are the BEST pets. It will mean I have 6 roos & 10 hens but my Cochin boy is 12 years old so as much as I want him to live forever, realise it will probably not be too long. He shows NO signs of age & I know for sure he is 12 as picked him out at 1 wk old.
Anyway, I forgot why I started- baby quail water dish! I find a plastic lid covered with marbles tightly packed so water is just over marbles is really safe.Hope of some help. I have never seen a newly hatched quail so PLEASE post pics.
