Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Nice work Jay!

Thanks! I'm not really good with building things, and I really had no idea what I was doing. I made it up as I built it! After seeing some of the coops/runs on here, I can see how mine has lots of room for improvement! But I am pretty proud I managed to get this much done!

Wow great photo, I'm new so have nearly owned chickens for a year got a couple more months to make if official.

I'm a real newbie! Only a few months!

And I just found out today that council laws mean I can't get a lamb to help with grass! You need to have 2000 sqm for any animals (we are on a 1400 block), and the animal can't come within 30 mtres of any housing (which is impossible with how other houses around us are situated).

So sad.

And I'll ask here, in case no one responds to my other post (gotta remember its NYE and not everyone is trawling chicken forums!

), looking at my run (and ignoring the lack of housing which is being fixed), do you think it is enough room for 12 hens? I thought I had a grasp on the whole space issue, until I read up about hens pecking each other, and then got some hens that peck!

Yes- it's big enough.
Have places where chooks can escape from others if necessary.
I put several perches up in the runs too- gives them quiet places to sit and get away from the crowd.

Could you show me some photos? Thats one thing I really wanted to do, but have no idea how, and most of the designs on here are full on fancy coops!

What that is extremely ridiculous, can't you get you neighbours to say they don't mind or something???
