From my 7 quail (which I'm certain are all girls) I get about 1 egg a day all up... I think it's because of the weather/ the fact I have no boy quail in there with them. But today I got a cool egg, which I have here for you all to see next to an average egg. It's a pure bluish white and 16g. I have no idea which quail laid this, but it was a super effort and I'm impressed.

Congrats on the big egg. When mine first started to lay I got a couple of 17g eggs. They were double yolkers. That was neat to see in a small egg.

With the budgie eggs - a friend has discovered their budgie is sitting on two eggs, they asked me what to do with them (like I would know!). I suggested google but in the meantime I would ask here - do they just leave them to be natural? And when they are born do they have to get special food?
Very sorry about the quail eggs, that is so sad.
Nothing breeds at my house...safer for my emotions! 

You can sprinkle egg and biscuit over the seed it helps the parents regurgitate the food for babies but satay is correct parents will do everything. Egg and biscuit mix you can get from pet shops it's used to hand raise babies hope all goes well.

nope mine do to lol. It's high protein so won't hurt at all.

Bugger Sam. How are the new ones going in the rcom? My babies from your eggs are growing fast now. Will need to move them from the outside baby pen to the grower pen soon.

satay, the recom temp is set at 37.5 perfect, the humidity went down to 49%, but then today gone up 54%. i have got it in the coolest part of the home and on the ground on tiled floor,

just hope its goes ok.

i have been dry running the hovabator (no eggs) , just cant get the temp stable , it goes from 36.9-37.8. i dont have any water in there atm so the humidity is around 30%.

Think that should be fine Sam. mine changes a bit due to outside humidity.
