Yeah, I wondered about that. I wouldn't put more than three in, and I've noticed they really snuggle together when they go to bed. The one I have now is probably around the same size as far as the indoor area goes. I will probably just cobble together something with materials I already have, but I do like the idea of recycled materials that are more weather proof than wood.

What's left of our first one is about that big. I use it as a nesting box but all four bantams fit in if its cold . No room to perch as well though. It's just a sort of double size nest box.

Dunno if I've already mentioned but I'm planning a coop made from old pallets. It is still wood but instant walls that should be easily screwed together and you can put somekind of insulation inside the pallets. Just some ply and paint and you're good
Bunnings said I can have some pallets for free cuz it saves them getting rid of them.

Maybe I should go see bunnings then, been nagging hubby to bring me two from work so I can extend my compost heap. Not got me them yet though.

Many businesses are happy to give away pallets. Don't be afraid to ask if you see pallets lying around.

Can just mail cuttings with a bit of wet paper towel around the bottom

Should be fine to post....wrap in wet paper towel, then newspaper, then a zip lock bag and pop it in an express post bag.

Well that sounds cool.
Now how much is it for postage compared to a worm wood plant?

I get free pallet form my local Norco.

Ask Norco either Rural or milk factory, they have them in masses.

x2. We actually have Nothing in the poultry industry over here...like nothing!
And it is crazy amounts of money to get it shipped. No Wonder all of our coops are "rustic", hand made jobs. But that's why they are the best

Just walk around your neighbourhood - lots of people have wormwood growing in their gardens.
