Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks for all the info!! I'm sitting here just wondering what to do now - sigh

So drove all over town and cocci medications were sold out everywhere. Finally managed to get the amprolium 200 in the next town over.

However started a thread in the disease section and someone shared various poo pics and hers (pic in that thread) actually looks like the normal shedding intestinal lining one

So now I'm sitting here unsure what to do next. Do I give the amprolium in case. Or not give as if she is already week and its not that I could make her worse?

She is eating and drinking but really just has seemed tired out for a couple of days. Could it just be all the factors from being feather pecked to wrong food to a greedy coop mate that doesn't like to share the feed dish. The diareah has cleared up, should I just wait and see if she improves?

Argh!!!!!!!! Lol

Does it matter what chili plant i get? Still waiting for my mint cuttings to grow roots - haven't had time to go to the nursery to get any as I am most impatient - I have some growing outside but fairly sure pulling it out to move it won't bode well for it, my thumb is only half green...
I don't think so. I would recommend Birds eye chillies, they are really easy to grow and are the most common.

wow appps, you are in a bit of a pickle.
I would try to Pm colourful about it, I would maybe just give her half the recommended dose and see how she goes.

Yes that poo chart has saved me many times. there are so many bad looking poo's which are totally normal.lol.

First egg from my Barred Plymouth Rocks. And half my Araucana crosses that are 3 weeks older haven't started laying yet! Unfortunately it is from my "second best" breeding pen.

Apps- put some in their water for a week or so "just in case" - it won't hurt them if they haven't got it and may do some good.
I medicate every month or two irrespective.

Seconded. I've sent you a PM Appps, but that was before reading all this. If it's cocci, you caught on to it very early and I would really suggest using the Amprolium. It won't hurt them and it will help them build an immunity for the future. When chooks here get Cocci, they go from happy and healthy to swaying in the corner with in a day, so it might just be a change of diet or even worms.

Thank you Luke, for all your kind words.

Hi appps

I think (?) you said you lived near-ish me in Sydney. I've been going to Enfield Produce because it's near work, I think they're great with their range and cost. I rang them out of interest and the man said he has antibiotics for cocci so if it's of help here's their contact details.
Regards
