I live in SE QLD and have a flock of Light Sussex, Speckled Sussex, Araucanas, Orpington x, Welsummers, Australorp and Faverolles.

Brrrrr!!!  We had around about 5c at that time.  
Still cold enough for me!

Yes that is cold. I am an x Brissy girl and remember freezing in winter there since we have moved out here 6 years ago I have a new understanding of cold in winter and we don't even have a fire place or a heater lol. Our house is well insulated though so you really only freeze if you go outside.

I have to go outside at that time - got to let the chickens out and feed my horse before I myself get ready for work..
I rug up to the extreme, but then again, I am a complete sook when it comes to the cold.

I almost feel sorry for the girls having to stay out in the cold, but when I get home and close the coop door, they're all together roosting so I can't feel too bad.

. I have two Welsummers and an Orpington x mystery hen.

But now you mention it, Wellies x Orps would be something!

Me too not a fan of the cold at all. Bring on the 40C+ weather of summer out here I just love it.
