Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Do y'all think I should get this ara for $40 or wait until closer to spring to see what else comes up? I don't know too much about them to know if this one is good quality. A little unsure about the price and distance to pick her up but really want one for eggs this spring.
Looks like she is friendly, which is a plus, Lavenders usually lay a bluer eggs, she doesn't look like she has much brassiness in her feathers (brassiness is a fault) and she has nice coloured legs, eyes, it's hard to see her cheek fluff but she looks like she has a good sized crest. Doesn't seem to have a beard though. That being said if she is just for eggs, Most of my Araucanas don't have big enough crests, some are completely clean faced and lay a bluer egg than the ones which are closer to standard. I'm on the hunt for some better quality ones this year too, but the ones we have now are all pets and for egg colour so it doesn't matter to me if they are perfect or not.

If you are only after egg colour, I have a couple of blue egg layers you can have for $15 each.
Thanks anyway ash but I already have too many not to standard here, my kids seem to always choose the ones I don't want to keep. but they have come in handy for my cross breeds. and plus you could play rugby with them they are so docile.... I really want to get a pen set up with good quality to standard Araucanas, I had some really good ones a while back but I thought I had to move and sold them. Plus my rooster from that lot was a bit of a #&^%! Now we just have our pets. I'm going to try to get a couple of different strains of fertile eggs (hopefully localish so I don't have to deal with the post).

Well still wanna try :p and a barred houdan, and marans. Isn't Plymouth rock used to make cuckoo marans?

This little beauty is growing up nicely :)
