Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Very well so far :) got three out of four of the Araucana and the minorca are wiggling heaps, due today :)

Looks like next hatch will be fertility testing for my own birds. I'm not too hopefully though because my big boy just seems to big and fluffy to do the job.

Been doing alot of reading about what may be wrong with my little chick and it seems like it may have been exposed to some mould from bedding getting wet when they tipped their water over. What do y'all think? I've since gotten them a little untippable doggy dish. If it were the flu or something, it would be alot more obvious right? He only sneezes very occasionally and I can't be sure if wet more is from drinking or not. He eats and drinks fine and the bubble in his eye went away like an hour later. He still closer that eye alot though. Do you think he's alright? Most importantly (although that's harris to say) do you think he's contagious?

Glad to hear the hatch is going well. I am not good with illnesses as I really have never had to deal with one. I have had a chicken that got something in her eye years ago and I got a course of antibiotic for her but that is about it. Hopefully Luke or ash or maybe chook can give you some better advice. Is the chick still in the brooder or out in a pen now? I only use paper towel in the brooder.

Chook my fw marans are staring to get feathers on their wings. They are just over a week old. Seems they all look the same. I can't really see any difference in the colours. Hmmm.. Is it to early to tell yet? Let's hope they are not all boys.

I can usually have a 90% guess but even now my babies are almost two weeks and I can just tell. Some stains have quite dark feathers through the wheaten so it can be a bit hard to tell. Post some pics, I will take some of my babies this morning too :) Frizzles are in lockdown!

they all look like this..

Not the best pic of the wing but no one home to hold them for me .. It appears to be lighter closer to the body and darker further out.
