Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Looking good Luke :) Quails are great aren't they. Funny thing is when I got mine I was told they wont lay over winter not enough day light hours and to cold. Someone forgot to tell my quails that as they are laying up a storm right now.

The last Frizzle has just pipped this morning. I took one out yesterday as it was dead in shell but I saw movement in this one so left her in! They were due on Saturday :)
Here are some pics of my French Wheaten Marans, Croads and Baby Babe enjoying their new pen. I'm going to pen up more birds later this arvo in the other side..

Is that a wheaten rooster chook? Looks like I may have a heap of them coming through. Nice looking boy.

Yes Huxley is a FWMarans. He had a bit of damage to his comb, either from the frost or maybe he scraped it on the shed I'm not sure but I put some paw paw on it and it seems to be mending nicely.
I've ended up with 7 girls and 9 boys in my brooder but I have a round of my eggs in the bator so I will be able to match up some pairs and trios this season in any case. I've marked the chicks that hatched from the darkest eggs from the posted lot so I have some nice little boys to work with in there too.

My Candler has arrived from the U.K but will have to wait til hubby brings it home tonight to see how it goes. I get my parcels sent to his work in Brissy cause they tend to arrive a day or two earlier than if they come out here.
